I ordered all 6 episodes, it came in a beautiful elegant box. My wife and I very loved the game! All materials are excellent quality, puzzles and the story are great! Very good work, team!
Bought episodes 1-3 at Origins game fair 2025. Finally got around to playing them. Love the replay ability! Once I've played through I've been able to gift them to my little brother and his girlfriend for them to play through. Will be buying more!
I love the game. The only problem is I'm dyslexic and struggled with the word scrambling and had to look at the answers, this took away a little bit of the fun. I have been a big fan of escape mail and I understand that this isn't exactly made for me. Still had a lot of fun.
We had a great time solving this puzzle and look forward to the other set we purchased (Family Secrets).
well made, you can feel the quality. also there were a few riddles we have not seen yet anywhere else, and we've played most of the games of this kind available in europe. shipping to central europe also went well, looking forward to the next episodes!
My husband and I had a blast with episode 1! We ordered the second episode before we even left the table after finishing the episode. Great job on everything! Such a smart concept!
This is great! It was just difficult enough and very fun. The quality is fantastic. We are so impressed!
Great cold weather activity. Super for families that love escape room activities. No more than 4 people I think. Travels so well and easy to reuse. Puzzles are difficult enough that leveraging the odd hint feels just about right. Thank you so much for your creativity,
My very first adventure - a Xmas present from my daughter. We played it together. It was hard, but not too hard. We finished in a couple of hours and needed only a couple of hints. High quality product, visually pleasing. Can’t wait to do another episode.
This was a great family gift. It's hard enough to tax our brains but not impossible. We've completed 4 episodes and look forward to finding out what happens next. I ordered the Shackleton series for our uncle's family in the UK for Christmas since he was a high ranking officer in the British Navy. I've also just received the Family Secrets series so we can have a new challenge in 2026. Thanks for the many hours of entertainment!
I received both part 1 & part 2 earlier today and i couldn’t help but complete both of them.. i really REALLY enjoyed both parts but I found part 2 to be a little easier than I would have wanted. It is also entirely possible that after doing part 1 I was mentally primed for the puzzles. I’m an escape room fanatic and this was a perfect way for me to satisfy that itch at home! I’ve done a fair number of similar at home puzzles and this was definitely one of the best ones I’ve tried so far! I will definitely be ordering more episodes. Although, I’ll probably have to order 1 at a time to help control my urge to keep going lol. Great job guys!
This has been a fantastic series so far. My wife and I are only on Episode 4, but we marvel at how well the puzzles have been constructed. The team that designed this series has some serious creative skills.
Nothing was too easy or too hard. Clues are hidden in plain sight yet hard to spot at the same time.
Seriously Escape Mail team....you've outdone yourselves with this series. MORE PLEASE!!!!!
This was nearly impossible. Almost every week I needed a few hints. They used outside of the game knowledge. They made you reuse things that you thought you'd already solved... Without telling you to go back to use it again. Never really knew what to do. And the last puzzle was a joke. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.
Hi Kyle, sorry to hear about your experience, we have lots of questions we'd love to ask you to follow up on your experience and better understand it. We'll send you an email :) thanks for playing.
Ah this we a fantastic experience. I brought it with me to the high Canadian Arctic while working so I had something to do on the few days off I get. I also learned that Schakleton was hired by Canada to explore the high Arctic but the funding was pulled so he went back to Antarctica instead where he suffered a heart attack on the journey and passed away on the boat. Although I’m near the opposite place he was it felt thematic looking out my window at the sea ice forking and icebergs still drifting around up here. I played through by myself and just loved the story. The components were awesome and puzzles were varied both in difficulty and style. I did episodes 1-3 with the flow card and then 4-6 without. Managed to get through with no hints but had a couple puzzles where I had to stare into the abyss of my brain for a long time waiting for something new to think. And it eventually always bubbled up. So satisfying. Anyway it is a 10/10 for anyone who likes puzzle games. I will get the refill pack and pass it along for the next person to enjoy!
Great continuation to the first episode, very fun to solve the puzzles, I feel like the length and difficulty of the game is perfect for a relaxed evening activity.
I've done many escape rooms over the years and several of the Family Secrets Escape Mail games. Escape Mail is SO well written and constructed. My family has enjoyed every time we've played! After doing the first two episodes, we had to buy the rest!
Well thought out and fun for our whole family- I send a subscription to my mom and she’s able to enjoy with the people around her!
We took the expert level set and gifted the standard set to others. We didn’t realize that the standard set came with clue cards/cards that let you know where to look/which elements to use to solve each puzzle. We enjoyed the expert level set, even though this meant we sometimes had to look for clues because we couldn’t figure things out. That being said, we didn’t use many. If you enjoy challenging puzzles, this is a good kit. Shinobi is definitely easier (and way less time intensive). Shackleton is tougher and comes across as more pulled together (the family secret videos are adorable more than they are Oscar worthy :), but also, you did what you could given the time when it was produced. Really great work. You hooked up with this series (we bought the boxset in one go) and we’ve been coming back for more since. Can’t wait for your next product.
We completed this box set with the kids. Our oldest son (10) was able to contribute meaningfully throughout (he loves puzzles/escape rooms), whereas the younger one mostly enjoyed being our notetaker/entering our answers. As soon as we finished the whole box set, we watched the Endurance documentary on Disney. The kids (and us adults) all really enjoyed identifying the parallels from the game and the characters and experiences as recounted in the film. Really great quality. We’ve order two replacement kits so that we can have friends and family experience the awesomeness too! Well done. Looking forward to your next project (I’ve been backing you since day one). I don’t think Escape Mail is for people who find Exit Games challenging…these definitely require a little something different. We used the cards to know which elements needed to be used to solve each puzzle (we took the expert level for Family Secrets, so didn’t have that luxury then) but I don’t know that we would have enjoyed Shackleton nearly as much if we needed to figure everything out on our own. I think having the option to use the card is the way to go (rather than ordering an expert level boxset). In any case: fantastic.
