Shinobi is a family friendly adventure (all content is PG). The difficulty of Shinobi is suitable for anyone 10 years or older, but playing with an adult is recommended for anyone under the age of 14.


It is a great game to play in a group of up to 4 people, but can even be played solo. The game has enough assets to keep everyone occupied.

There is access to tiered hints online. Regardless of the difficulty level you choose, you can always access multiple hints (and the solution) with every puzzle along the way.

Everything you need to solve the puzzle is included in your case, with the exception of a phone or a tablet to access the online portal, a pencil and a piece of paper.

Definitely the easiest and quickest to work through

Shinobi, in my opinion, is far easier than the Family Secrets box set and/or the Shackleton box set. That being said, I think a lot of people might appreciate that. Because it was easier, it was something that could be done with our kids, which was also nice. Another bonus, is that it is also quite easy to not damage clues etc, so it is a set that can be lent to others so that they can also enjoy the gameplay. Really nice packaging/materials.

Impressive visuals and puzzles

The puzzles are very well thought out and the online experience that supports the puzzles are very well thought out. I enjoyed that I could do the puzzles in whatever order I wanted. Overall, the puzzles were a good mix of difficulty levels and it was a very satisfying solve in the end!

So much fun

These kits are so much fun. I have done 2 others in addition to this one. My favourite so far is the first episode of Shackleton, because it’s a true story and I liked learning about the history. This one is my second favourite, I like that this one came with extra sheets for answers, I plan on sharing it with my brother.
